Lyophilised semaglutide is generally held at -20 °C or below, protected from light and moisture. Reconstituted solutions are typically kept at 2-8 °C and used within a defined window because degradation accumulates over time. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles are discouraged, since each cycle can promote aggregation and reduce monomeric content. Room-temperature stability of the solid has been examined in some studies but remains incompletely characterised for long durations, so cold storage is the conservative default for research material.
Degradation proceeds along several parallel routes. Deamidation of asparagine and glutamine residues generates charged variants that shift retention time in chromatographic analysis. Oxidation targets methionine and can be accelerated by trace metals or dissolved oxygen. Non-covalent aggregation produces dimers, oligomers, and larger species that are difficult to reverse. Isomerisation at aspartate residues is slower but measurable under thermal stress. The distribution among these pathways depends on pH, buffer composition, ionic strength, and the presence of excipients such as sugars or surfactants.
Reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection near 214 nm is the standard purity method, reported as area percent. Mass spectrometry, usually with electrospray ionisation, confirms identity and reveals covalent modifications. Size-exclusion chromatography quantifies aggregates and fragments. Peptide mapping after enzymatic digestion localises changes to specific sequence regions. Circular dichroism and infrared spectroscopy report on secondary structure, while light scattering tracks particle formation in liquid formulations. No single technique captures every quality attribute.
Reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection near 214 or 280 nanometres is widely used to assess purity and to resolve related impurities. Liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry confirms identity through the protonated molecular ion and fragment ions formed in tandem experiments. Capillary electrophoresis and peptide mapping after enzymatic digestion supply complementary information on charge variants and modification sites. Circular dichroism and nuclear magnetic resonance can report on secondary structure in solution. Absolute quantification usually depends on an external standard, and reported purity depends on the detection wavelength and integration parameters chosen.
Lyophilised material appears as a white to off-white cake or powder that is hygroscopic, and containers are usually equilibrated to room temperature before opening to limit condensation. Dissolution is performed in water, phosphate-buffered saline, or a mildly alkaline buffer, since solubility rises above neutral pH. Gentle inversion or low-speed mixing is preferred, because vigorous vortexing can promote surface denaturation and aggregation. Complete dissolution may require several minutes, and brief sonication is sometimes applied. Passing the solution through a 0.22 micrometre membrane removes particulates but does not by itself sterilise the liquid.
Storage at minus 20 degrees Celsius or lower in a desiccated container preserves the peptide for extended periods, while working solutions are commonly held at two to eight degrees Celsius for short intervals. Light exposure and repeated freeze-thaw cycles accelerate degradation, so dividing material into single-use aliquots is generally recommended. Adsorption to glass and plastic surfaces can lower the measured concentration of dilute solutions, particularly below one milligram per millilitre. The degradation routes most often reported for GLP-1 analogues are deamidation, methionine oxidation, and backbone hydrolysis. Relative rates under specific conditions are frequently described only for individual formulations.

A few teleosts are dangerous. Some, like eeltail catfish (Plotosidae), scorpionfish (Scorpaenidae) or stonefish (Synanceiidae) have venomous spines that can seriously injure or kill humans. Some, like the electric eel and the electric catfish, can give a severe electric shock. Others, such as the piranha and barracuda, have a powerful bite and have sometimes attacked human bathers. Reports indicate that some of the catfish family can be large enough to prey on human bathers. Medaka and zebrafish are used as research models for studies in genetics and developmental biology. The zebrafish is the most commonly used laboratory vertebrate, offering the advantages of genetic similarity to mammals, small size, simple environmental needs, transparent larvae permitting non-invasive imaging, plentiful offspring, rapid growth, and the ability to absorb mutagens added to their water.
== Contraindications == Contraindications to subcutaneous injections primarily depend on the specific medication being administered. Doses which would require more than 2 mL to be injected at once are not administered subcutaneously. Medications which may cause necrosis or otherwise be damaging or irritating to tissues should also not be administered subcutaneously. An injection should not be given at a specific site if there is inflammation or skin damage in the area.
Electrical charges have been omitted for simplicity of notation. The square brackets indicate concentration, and the subscripts to the stability constants, β, indicate the stoichiometry of the complex. When the analytical concentration of methylamine is twice that of ethylenediamine and the concentration of copper is the same in both reactions, the concentration [Cd(en)] is much higher than the concentration [Cd(MeNH2)2] because β11 ≫ β12. An equilibrium constant, K, is related to the standard Gibbs free energy,
For spherical polymer nanoparticles, glass transition temperature and crystallinity may affect deformation and change the elastic modulus when compared to the bulk material. However, size-dependent behavior of elastic moduli could not be generalized across polymers. As for crystalline metal nanoparticles, dislocations were found to influence the mechanical properties of nanoparticles, contradicting the conventional view that dislocations are absent in crystalline nanoparticles.
== Pokeweed antiviral protein == Pokeweed antiviral protein is a ribosome inactivating protein that provides pokeweed plants protection against both viral and fungal infections. It also protects other types of plants that have genetically engineered to express RAP that do not normally do so. Recombinant pokeweed antiviral protein has also been proposed as a treatment of human diseases such as AIDS and cancer.

As of 2019, Illinois had $8.5 billion of unpaid bills and $134 billion of pension liabilities. The gas tax that funds the 2019 infrastructure plan, 38 cents per gallon and indexed to inflation, took effect on July 1, 2019. As of 2019, Illinois had one of the highest fuel taxes in the U.S. In 2024, Pritzker signed legislation eliminating the state's 1% tax on groceries, beginning January 1, 2026. In 2024, Pritzker signed a budget into law that included the creation of the state's first child tax credit, which provided up to $300 to households with children under 12 years old that made less than $60,000 annually. In 2025, the tax credit doubled to up to $600 per child.

Tui na (推拿) is a form of massage, based on the assumptions of TCM, from which shiatsu is thought to have evolved. Techniques employed may include thumb presses, rubbing, percussion, and assisted stretching.
The Dairy Division had been established in the Bureau of Animal Industry on July 1, 1895, and authorized by the Congress 'to collect and disseminate information relating to the dairy industry of the United States.' That was precisely and exclusively what it did until 1902, when L. A. Rogers became an employee of the Division. Rogers arrived in Washington followed by a flurry of activity. He attended his first meeting of the Society of American Bacteriologists, and with C. E. Gray was assigned an applied research project on butter, at Ames, Iowa, as animal industry staff were expected to make use of state experiment stations. When no adequate supply of milk for the research was available at Ames, the men "begged the use" of university facilities at Madison, Wisconsin. Following work in Wisconsin and Minnesota, Rogers and Gray

== Multiplayer mods == Arg! – A pirate-themed deathmatch mod focused on melee combat. PC Zone gave a rating of two out of five. PC PowerPlay wrote: "All new weapons, maps and outstanding pirate features make this a must download." Action Half-Life – A team-based multiplayer mod developed as part of the popular series of "Action"-based mods, designed to emulate the feel of an action movie. Members of the development team had previously worked with developers of Counter-Strike on the mod Action Quake 2. Battle of the Millenium – A superhero-themed class-based deathmatch mod. Six characters are included: Batman, Mega Man, Son Goku, Spawn, Spider-Man, and Superman. In addition of standard weapons, each character has four special powers. Gen4 called the graphics convincing but said the mod is unbalanced since the characters are not equal in power. Blood for Honor – A medieval fantasy deathmatch mod. It includes nine different classes to choose from. .NetGamer called it an interesting mod with an RPG touch. Canned Tuna – Deathmatch mod with five game modes. One of them is called "Gib The Llama" where players are turned into llamas after every odd-numbered respawn. In every game mode players have five weapons with unlimited ammunition (except trip mines). It received a score of three out of five from PC Zone, calling it a weird but incohesive gaming experience. The mod was said to be unpopular with few servers running it. Cold Ice – Features fast-paced gameplay (aided by tools like a jetpack and a grappling hook) and revamps all of the weapons and the color scheme to icy blue.
A prolactin cell (also known as a lactotroph, mammotroph, or lactotrope) is a specialized endocrine cell located in the anterior pituitary gland in most vertebrates. Its primary role is to secrete the peptide hormone prolactin. In mammals, prolactin serves multiple reproductive and homeostatic roles within an organism, including stimulation of lactation, mammary tissue development, regulation of the immune response, and activity of the central nervous system. Prolactin cells constitute approximately 20-55% of the population of cells within the anterior pituitary gland, depending on the sex, physiological status, and species of the animal. Women characteristically exhibit higher levels of prolactin activity as compared to men. Males and non-pregnant, non-lactating females typically have low levels of prolactin. The number for prolactin cells in a pregnant female will increase to allow for breast tissue development. Prolactin cells are regulated by dopamine, estrogen, and thyrotropin-releasing hormone. The monitoring of the activity and secretion of prolactin cells provides clinical significance for reproductive and endocrine disorders within the body.
Created by writer Chris Claremont, Elizabeth "Betsy" Braddock first appeared in Captain Britain #8 (December 1976), with Captain Britain #10 (December 1976) as her first cover appearance, published by the Marvel Comics' British imprint Marvel UK. In New Mutants Annual #2 (1986), Claremont integrated Betsy Braddock into the X-Men franchise. After being rescued by the New Mutants and taking up residence at their mutant-training academy, Braddock is formally invited to join the X-Men and officially adopts the codename Psylocke, becoming an enduring fixture of the team over the next three decades. In Uncanny X-Men #213 (January 1987), Psylocke battles Sabretooth, demonstrating her fighting skills by holding him at bay. In Uncanny X-Men #256 (December 1989), an amnesiac Betsy is kidnapped by the Hand, who brainwash her and physically alter her to take on an East Asian appearance. Under the name Lady Mandarin, she briefly becomes the Hand's supreme assassin. While her memories return, she retains her new appearance and skills, including the ability to manifest the focused totality of her telepathic power in the form of a “psychic knife.” The art for Psylocke's redesigned costume is by Jim Lee. In a later interview, he describes the creative process:
== Distinguishing similar minerals == Pyrite is distinguishable from native gold by its hardness, brittleness and crystal form. Pyrite fractures are very uneven, sometimes conchoidal because it does not cleave along a preferential plane. Native gold nuggets, or glitters, do not break but deform in a ductile way. Pyrite is brittle, gold is malleable. Natural gold tends to be anhedral (irregularly shaped without well defined faces), whereas pyrite comes as either cubes or multifaceted crystals with well developed and sharp faces easy to recognise. Well crystallised pyrite crystals are euhedral (i.e., with nice faces). Pyrite can often be distinguished by the striations which, in many cases, can be seen on its surface. Chalcopyrite (CuFeS2) is brighter yellow with a greenish hue when wet and is softer (3.5–4 on Mohs' scale). Arsenopyrite (FeAsS) is silver white and does not become more yellow when wet.

Reverse-phase high-performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection is the usual choice, with results reported as area percent. Complementary methods such as size-exclusion chromatography and mass spectrometry are needed because a single separation cannot resolve every impurity class. Purity figures are therefore method dependent and should always be read alongside the technique used.
Oxidation mainly affects methionine residues and is promoted by dissolved oxygen, trace transition metals, and prolonged exposure to light. Buffer choice and the presence of antioxidants in a formulation can alter the rate appreciably. Because the products differ in mass by only a few units, mass spectrometry is often required to detect them.
Published data on long-term ambient stability are limited, so the question remains open rather than settled. Short excursions during transport are common in practice, and many suppliers use insulated packaging with cold packs. Where stability data are absent, cold-chain handling with temperature logging is the safer approach.
Filtering removes particulate matter that can block columns or scatter light. A 0.22 micrometre membrane is typical, and the filter material should be checked for peptide adsorption.
